green screens, digital signage, digital media services (the list goes on!); we’ve started noticing one becoming more and more popular with our schools. The product we’re talking about is our 55” Anomaly screen, also known as the “mummy screen”, has recently earned the title of “Anomaly’s most popular product”! Our 55” is in the middle of our size range, only exceeded by the bigger 65” “daddy screen.” Schools all over the UK have warmed to the “mummy screen” and it’s easy to see why, big enough to be noticed by passers by from a long distance, it gives it an edge on all other competitors. We think you’ll agree that these 55″ screens make a real impact in the playground and we can’t wait to see how the schools put them to use in celebrating pupil achievements and communicating with parents. At Anomaly we always get people enquiring and asking about the screens, and every single time we are happy to help. We also pride ourselves on the fact that we have a dedicated field-based support team on hand to aid our schools every step of the way. As always if you want more information about how Anomaly can improve your digital media experience be sure to give us a call on 0844 579 0880, alternatively you can drop us an email at email@example.com. Twitter | FacebookTalking about the weather, being overly polite, fish and chips, moaning, just some of the things that mean you’re British! But what does it actually mean to be British? In this blog post, Anomaly is going to be looking at promoting British values in school and what it means to be British and they’re telling this story by using digital media. Schools all over the UK are using green screen technology to promote British values, and they are all using Anomaly’s products. https://youtu.be/pXaFduViX1I Goole based Kingsway Primary School are also in the spotlight as they have utilised our green screen technology in their school to produce a video about the subject, showcasing their students knowledge on the subject and proving their ability to use a digital media alternative to learning in their school. Below you will find a video produced by the students, utilising green screens, and talking all about promoting British values. https://youtu.be/z4q5AmsXY3w Proven digital media techniques are always a hit in schools, incorporating fun and fitting in with the school curriculum. Twitter | FacebookOne of our schools, Wold Academy, demonstrated their digital media success using our green screen products by showcasing their knowledge of History. The year 5 pupils from Wold Academy, Hull showed that our portable filming studio can be incorporated into all areas of the curriculum regardless of the subject with their captivating news reports set in Anglo-Saxon times. https://youtu.be/p8VHobT8108 Using green screen filming techniques, the pupils of Wold Academy are able to bring to life what they have learnt about the Battle of Hastings using digital active learning methods which are proven to improve classroom engagement and knowledge retention. It looks like the pupils really enjoyed this project and unbeknownst to them, they have also been brushing up on their literacy skills by writing and reading their own scripts! Their enthusiasm speaks volumes and we think you’ll agree that this wouldn’t be case if they were asked to read a book about the Anglo-Saxons! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0s97Watjxi4&feature=youtu.be Wold Academy are constantly pushing the boundaries of learning throughout the entire school so to see more of their fantastic work head over to their

Twitter | FacebookIncorporating new technology with the school curriculum can always be difficult if you’re not experienced with using it before, this is especially applicable when using green screen technology. Anomaly UK understands that sometimes, things just don’t click. That’s why in this blog post we will be looking at “3 tips to using green screens”. Prepare the subject The first step to becoming successful with green screen technology is to prepare the subject. This might sound like common sense, but it’s important to make sure everything is prepared before starting your new masterpiece. Always make sure that the subject is 3 steps away from the green screen and isn’t casting a shadow on the backdrop. Prepare the setting Once you’ve prepared the subject, you want to make sure that you can see them! For the perfect lighting, make sure one light is positioned high and bright whilst the other is low and dim. Charge the camera before recording So you’ve made sure everything is set up, the green screen is up, the subject is in place, you’re just about to start recording and then, the camera dies. The first thing to do would be go and get the charger and plug it in but unfortunately this isn’t always the best idea! Plugging the charger is can cause an unwanted buzzing sound. Always make sure that the camera charger is unplugged whilst using the microphone to avoid the annoying buzzing sound! Practice, practice, practice! Once you’ve followed the 3 above steps, make sure to carry out an extra one and that extra one is to practice! Make sure you’re practicing using the green screens for optimal results, or better yet give us a call on 0844 579 0880 to arrange for a member of our team to deliver a green screen workshop in the classroom. “At The Jane Lane School we increasingly use Anomaly’s service to celebrate the incredible successes of our students. The screen in Reception continuously plays videos and photo presentations that engage visitors and provide a source for comment and praise. We have a member of staff who produces high quality presentations that make the children shine… Presenting themselves as the class act that they are. That leads me to Class ACT. We purchased this flexible, mobile and accessible product over a year ago and have used it in a variety of ways. With plans to develop more creative learning opportunities it will be fully utilised. Beyond the products we have in school, I would like to praise the support offered by the Anomaly staff that visit the school who provide a very professional service.” – Tony Milovsorov (Head teacher)The Jane Lane school is just one of the many schools we have helped.
