To celebrate Road Safety Week 2015, the Anomaly team will once again be creating content to raise awareness for Road Safety Week 2015. Promoting road safety is always particularly important to encourage throughout the school grounds. We’ve got specifically tailored content to help keep pupils safe at this important time. About Road Safety Week Road Safety Week was first started by Brake.org in 1997 as a way to raise awareness for road safety and promoting measures to make roads safer for both drivers and pedestrians. The campaign is designed to target the community through schools, workplaces and local/regional organisations through a range of events and activities. Anomaly have took this project by the horns by producing quality content which can be displayed throughout schools throughout the UK. “Road crashes are the biggest killer of young people worldwide. Schools can play a key role in preventing road casualties and enabling children, families and everyone to use roads without being endangered.” The theme for Road Safety Week 2015 is ‘drive less, live more’ and is encouraging the nation to reconsider the ways in which they travel on a daily basis. Anomaly Film and the success of UK schools is what our most recent blog post is all about. Since its launch, Anomaly Film has been the market leader as an innovative digital product – but just how well can it improve the classroom? We’ve collected several testimonials from schools as well as content produced by the schools themselves to find out. Our school in focus is Finham Primary School in Coventry. Anomaly have had the pleasure of revamping their existing digital infrastructure with a number of Anomaly products. Finham Primary opted for one of our 47″ external screens and one of our 42″ internal screens. As well as installing our Anomaly screens, we also introduced the ever popular service, Anomaly Film into the classroom. Anomaly Film was an instant success which can be demonstrated in the video produced by the school below:

Having experienced Anomaly Film and Anomaly’s products for a vast amount of time, Julie Pettifor, curriculum support and teaching assistant at Finham Primary School said: “Anomaly Film is fab. It was great to go through everything about the project and have a team member from Anomaly confirm the aspects I already knew. After receiving some extra training, I’m now much more comfortable using Anomaly Film. We have incorporated the kit into our timetable and students are always enthusiastic to use it every Friday. You may think, “But isn’t Anomaly Film a hassle?” Actually no, not at all! The Anomaly Film kit takes approximately 10 minutes to set up, with some schools saying the students take it upon themselves to set the kit up! Below you’ll see a behind the scenes look at what the Anomaly Film kit looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oC2er1gLo0A Still look like a hassle? We didn’t think so. In this blog post Anomaly focuses on one of its successful schools, Ranelagh Primary School. Read their testimonial which highlights their experiences whilst using the Anomaly services. Ranelagh have took it upon their selves to write a full page piece about how their utilising digital products. Anomaly had the pleasure of working with Ranelagh to improve their existing digital infrastructure. Ranelagh started their piece by saying: “Ranelagh Primary School staff are always searching for new and challenging ways of engaging their pupils in the learning process and they have discovered a fantastic film package that will see pupils starring in and producing their own DVDs.” ranelagh_3 Below you’ll find some positive comments about Anomaly Film.  “Incorporating Anomaly Technology across all areas of the National Curriculum has proved both exciting and challenging for Ranelagh pupils. Two external, portrait screens have been installed in the playground and they have been used to motivate pupils into taking part in activities before the school day begins and also serve as an important means of communication with parents.” “Anomaly have provided in-depth training and the ‘studio in a box’ is compact, portable and user friendly. These factors ensure the children are involved in the whole production process, from creative collaboration to recording and editing the final film, providing them with newly acquired skills and at the same time giving them a useful insight into the film industry.” “Using the green screen pupils were able to integrate their music tuition with digital technology to bring their talent and skill to a wider audience, in the form of a professionally produced DVD. The children were ‘transported’ to stages around the world and played their instruments with confidence.” You can read an in depth review of Anomaly and the full success from Ranelagh by clicking here. Bonfire night is always an exciting time of year. That’s why, in this blog post, we’re talking about staying safe on Bonfire night! Unfortunately, every year people injure themselves or their friends because they can sometimes be irresponsible with fireworks. Make sure you remember Anomaly’s tips to keeping safe on Bonfire night. Anomaly’s bonfire tips
  • Attending an organised event can be one of the best ways to keep safe on Bonfire night. At organised events there are always responsible adults around and you are able to watch the display at a safe distance.
  • Never play with fireworks. Regardless of how fun or cool you may look whilst doing so, they are explosives and can HURT you, or others around you.
  • Always let your parents or a responsible adult be the only person handling fireworks regardless of the situation. Only adults should light or hold fireworks. Make sure you never go near a firework that has been lit. Even if it hasn’t gone off it could still explode.
Staying safe with sparklers Sparklers are sometimes the best part about Bonfire night. It’s important to stay safe when using them:
  • Make sure you find somewhere that is open and not too windy to get the most out of your sparklers.
  • Always wear gloves to protect your hands when using sparklers. Always try to encourage your friends and people around you to wear gloves if they are also using sparklers.
  • When the sparkler goes out, make sure NOT to touch it. The sparkler could still burn you regardless of whether or not you think it won’t.
  • Once you have finished with the sparkler, place it into a bucket of water.
Remember these tips, wrap up warm and enjoy bonfire night! Anomaly are also running a giveaway for schools which you can find by clicking here.
