In this blog post Anomaly focuses on one of its successful schools, South End Junior School. After recently embracing digital technology at their school, we asked South End Junior School to say a few words regarding the experience with Anomaly. Read their testimonial which highlights their experiences whilst using the Anomaly services. south end junior school Anomaly recently had the pleasure of working with South End to improve their existing digital infrastructure. Like most schools, South End is constantly promoting e-safety at their school – this is when they approached us to see how we could help. After spending the day with our trainer, Tim, South End produced a professional video to promote the subject. The video was scripted, acted and created by the pupils of South End and after tackling this difficult subject in such a creative way, the pupils now have a firm understanding of E-safety. Georgie Lewis, Computer Expert at South End Junior School said: “Tim came for the day and spent it with ten children, who are the digital ambassadors. They independently drafted out a script in their own time together and were ready to start filming on the day with Tim.” On the topic of E-safety, Georgie said: “The message the children were given as a brief for them to then have free reign on what ‘E-Safety’ was and how we could promote it further in our school. Tim was very welcoming and warm towards the children and they were very at ease around him. He explained all the equipment and the timetable of the day to them clearly. We loved our day with him and wouldn’t hesitate to ask for him when we have our next filming day with Anomaly.” Below you will be able to find the video that South End Junior School created. We think it’s brilliant and promotes e-safety in a very positive light. In this blog post Anomaly focuses on one of its successful schools, Ranelagh Primary School. Read their testimonial which highlights their experiences whilst using the Anomaly services, in particular, the use of Anomaly Film. Having been one of our stand out schools for as long as we can remember, we wanted to highlight the commitment and achievement displayed by the school. anomaly film Anomaly had the pleasure of working with Ranelagh to improve their existing digital infrastructure. Ranelagh have wrote several pieces about the Anomaly services, in their most recent, Ranelagh said: “On Thursday 21st January Ranelagh Primary School was delighted to play host to a contingent of ten Dutch teachers from the Hague. The group traveled from Holland to observe the teaching of computing in an English primary school and the incorporation of technology in the classroom.” Ranelagh went on to say: “The most recent technology incorporated into the school timetable is ‘Anomaly Film’, which enables green screen filming and editing. The ‘studio in a box’ is compact, portable and user friendly. These factors ensure that the pupils are involved in the whole film production process, from creative collaboration to recording and editing the final film, providing them with newly acquired skills and at the same time giving them a useful insight into the movie industry.” Class teacher Mr Jenkins, who organised the film demonstration, said, “It’s fantastic that the pupils at Ranelagh have the opportunity to use such challenging technology. Not only do they experience performing in front of a green screen, producing some amazing results, they have also learned to set up the equipment, work the camera and direct their peers. The children then complete the whole process by editing the footage themselves. It’s a great way for the pupils to build a solid technology skill set and, at the same time, show their wonderful creative talents.” Adapting to new technologies is key to improving learning in the classroom. Anomaly Film introduces a digital and interactive film studio for the classroom which encapsulates students with the school curriculum. Anomaly Film is an expertly crafted custom film kit for schools created by Anomaly Interactive.
