In this blog post Anomaly are focusing on the exciting news regarding the sport premium for schools all over the UK. According to the department of education website, schools with 17 or more pupils receive £8,000 plus £5 per pupil, so for an average sized school with 200 pupils, the school will receive around £9,000. How to use the PE and sport premium Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer. According to the government website, you should use the premium to make improvements now that will benefit pupils joining the school in future years. The website explains how you could use your funding, so for example you can use your funding to hire a qualified sports coach to work with teachers or provide existing staff with training or resources to help them teach PE and sport more effectively. How can Anomaly help? Anomaly is able to help with the sport premium in a number of ways. Instead of hiring someone to come in to your school, why not display our content which is tailored to get kids active and adopt a passion for sport? Below you’ll find a piece of content which is regularly used by schools already embracing Anomaly equipment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VAvut42bNE Got any sports mad pupils or budding P.E teachers on your hands? Why not use our green screen equipment to get your pupils to make their own exercise videos? Get the whole school involved by playing these videos on the external screens too! But don’t take our word for it how we could help. Gavin Evans, head teacher at Hilltop Primary School in Kent has praised Anomaly equipment and described how it has helped keep his school active. Gavin said: “Whenever I wander out onto the playground during a break there are always many children mirroring the exercises and activities that we have installed on the screen and programmed to be on at those times.” Gavin continued to say: “When the children are not running, stretching and jumping they are watching the second screen and getting excited about seeming themselves and their work. Thank you Anomaly!” If you would like to incorporate any Anomaly technology into your school, or find out more about our vast range of services in the education sector please do not hesitate to call us on 0844 579 0880 or alternatively you can email us on the usual address info@anomalygroup.co.uk Twitter | Facebook

It’s stress awareness week. As we wind down into the summer months, stress levels can be high. As schools have just started a new term, stress can be something very difficult to deal with. As well as exams just around the corner, it’s important to keep on top of stress and the effects it may have. In this blog post, we’re focusing on our top tips for reducing stress in schools. Understanding stress stress awareness week Understanding stress can be very beneficial to dealing with stress. Stress is your body’s way of responding to any kind of demand or threat. When you feel threatened, your nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, including adrenaline, which rouse the body for emergency action. Your heart pounds faster, muscles tighten, blood pressure rises, breath quickens, and your senses become sharper. These physical changes increase your strength and stamina, speed your reaction time, and enhance your focus. Organise your working environment School and college can be stressful, but there are simple things you can do to manage and reduce your stress. Creating a positive working environment can help a lot. Whether you’re a teacher or a student, having a good working environment can be key to reducing stress levels. Create a regular schedule; know what you will be doing on each day and when you will be doing it. Having a positive working space can help you plan ahead. It can even be simple things like packing your bag the night before and knowing what you’re wearing in the morning can really help to reduce stress. Set aside time in your day to do assignments and other miscellaneous tasks. Once you have things planned, your stress levels will reduce dramatically. It’s also important to clear out any clutter from your revision space, desk or anywhere where you might be planning on doing any work. Just sitting in a cluttered room can create stress. Try to keep a tidy work space. Introduce Anomaly content into your school At Anomaly we have a vast content library for all of our schools to enjoy, ranging from various different topics including stress awareness. With the FA community shield just around the corner, in this blog post Anomaly UK will be looking at promoting active learning in relation to the upcoming event. The new football season is upon us with the FA community shield taking place this Sunday. With Chelsea winning the premier league last season with eight point cushion over second placed Manchester City and Arsenal winning the FA cup. The two will meet this Sunday at the Wembley stadium to kick off at 3PM, with Arsenal looking to retain the FA community shield. But how can schools promote active learning in relation to the FA community shield? Using Anomaly screens, schools will be able to tailor specific content to be streamed with ease.  With Anomaly screens it’s easy to tailor content to fit the school curriculum. It’s important to plan for the new term during the summer time.  Why not promote active learning following the students return to school in relation to the FA community shield?
