Using Anomaly screens to promote a healthy lifestyle is one of the main aims of Anomaly. With figures revealing that a third of children leaving primary school are obese, our graphics department have been working pedal to the metal over the summer to create some fresh, new and engaging pieces of content, that aren’t quite your traditional ‘follow an instructor’ exercise videos.

These videos immerse pupils into game shows or even a whole new world, which will get them moving around – without them even realising. Through the gap is a series of videos asking the viewer to get their body into a position that matches the gap in the panel. This tests viewers flexibility, balance and strength to be able to hold the positions. 5 levels are currently available, with more planned including levels in pairs and
small teams. Through gap
Monster Moves: Why do normal yoga when you could do monster moves yoga? This series asks the viewer to mirror the moves of the monsters and tests their memory at the end to see if they can recall the moves they have learnt. MM 2 Curious Manor: Can you help with the strange events going on at the Curious Manor? This series enlists the help of the viewer to perform physical activities to test the whole body and help rid the manor of the curious happenings. Viewers can be asked anything from helping to karate chop flying plates (improving hand-eye coordination) to ducking down to avoid the swinging lights (strengthening the lower body by squatting).CM 1 With new series planned and more in the pipeline on current series in terms of levels, difficulty and duration, pupils can get healthy by recording which levels they can complete and which they need to work on. They can even build on teamwork and co-operation with the levels that require pair work or small teams. Keep an eye out for more of these videos throughout the year!

Display relevant content As obvious as it sounds, displaying relevant content on your Anomaly screens is key to their success. It can often be difficult to constantly update the screens whilst keeping up with a busy school day. With the Anomaly content manager, it’s easy to update your Anomaly screens on the go. Got something specific you want playing? Browse and choose from hundreds of videos from our content library, or update your screens with messages relevant to what is going on at the current time. Can’t find a video on a certain subject? Get in touch with the office and our in-house graphics team can schedule to make it for you! As good as the Anomaly content manager sounds, it can also be difficult to keep up to date with it. That’s why at the end of every month we produce a blog post which outlines the content which is scheduled for the upcoming month. You can take a look at what’s been on in previous months in our blog. Promote active learning New plans by the government state that: “schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer”. In response to this, why not use Anomaly screens to promote active learning? We have content which is tailored to improve activity levels in schools. We’ve worked in partnership with UK Sports Coaching to display their content on our screens. The content is interactive so pupils can dance along with things that are happening on the screen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VAvut42bNE If you would like to incorporate any Anomaly technology into your school, or find out more about our vast range of services in the education sector please do not hesitate to call us on 0844 579 0880 or alternatively you can email us on the usual address info@anomalygroup.co.uk Twitter | Facebook

In this blog post Anomaly focuses on one of its successful schools, South End Junior School. After recently embracing digital technology at their school, we asked South End Junior School to say a few words regarding the experience with Anomaly. Read their testimonial which highlights their experiences whilst using the Anomaly services. south end junior school Anomaly recently had the pleasure of working with South End to improve their existing digital infrastructure. Like most schools, South End is constantly promoting e-safety at their school – this is when they approached us to see how we could help. After spending the day with our trainer, Tim, South End produced a professional video to promote the subject. The video was scripted, acted and created by the pupils of South End and after tackling this difficult subject in such a creative way, the pupils now have a firm understanding of E-safety. Georgie Lewis, Computer Expert at South End Junior School said: “Tim came for the day and spent it with ten children, who are the digital ambassadors. They independently drafted out a script in their own time together and were ready to start filming on the day with Tim.” On the topic of E-safety, Georgie said: “The message the children were given as a brief for them to then have free reign on what ‘E-Safety’ was and how we could promote it further in our school. Tim was very welcoming and warm towards the children and they were very at ease around him. He explained all the equipment and the timetable of the day to them clearly. We loved our day with him and wouldn’t hesitate to ask for him when we have our next filming day with Anomaly.” Below you will be able to find the video that South End Junior School created. We think it’s brilliant and promotes e-safety in a very positive light.
