In this blog post Anomaly are focusing on the exciting news regarding the sport premium for schools all over the UK. According to the department of education website, schools with 17 or more pupils receive £8,000 plus £5 per pupil, so for an average sized school with 200 pupils, the school will receive around £9,000. How to use the PE and sport premium Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer. According to the government website, you should use the premium to make improvements now that will benefit pupils joining the school in future years. The website explains how you could use your funding, so for example you can use your funding to hire a qualified sports coach to work with teachers or provide existing staff with training or resources to help them teach PE and sport more effectively. How can Anomaly help? Anomaly is able to help with the sport premium in a number of ways. Instead of hiring someone to come in to your school, why not display our content which is tailored to get kids active and adopt a passion for sport? Below you’ll find a piece of content which is regularly used by schools already embracing Anomaly equipment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VAvut42bNE Got any sports mad pupils or budding P.E teachers on your hands? Why not use our green screen equipment to get your pupils to make their own exercise videos? Get the whole school involved by playing these videos on the external screens too! But don’t take our word for it how we could help. Gavin Evans, head teacher at Hilltop Primary School in Kent has praised Anomaly equipment and described how it has helped keep his school active. Gavin said: “Whenever I wander out onto the playground during a break there are always many children mirroring the exercises and activities that we have installed on the screen and programmed to be on at those times.” Gavin continued to say: “When the children are not running, stretching and jumping they are watching the second screen and getting excited about seeming themselves and their work. Thank you Anomaly!” If you would like to incorporate any Anomaly technology into your school, or find out more about our vast range of services in the education sector please do not hesitate to call us on 0844 579 0880 or alternatively you can email us on the usual address info@anomalygroup.co.uk Twitter | Facebook

Increasing parental engagement in schools can be a difficult task; with Anomaly services you can improve parental engagement whilst displaying key messages. Following the recent news to turns all schools in the UK into academies, there has been certain doubts regarding the communication between schools and parents – with Anomaly services this will never be a problem. There has been a mixed reaction from teachers and parents all over the UK after David Cameron announced plans for all schools to become academies by 2020. In recent weeks the plans have come under a bit of fire. One main concern from teachers and parents is that the plans will potentially reduce parental engagement in schools, claims which David Cameron has passionately denied. Following a recent BBC article, Mr Cameron was quoted: “Parents have a great role to play, but no school should think that simply by having parent governors you’ve solved the problem about how to engage with parents.” So how can schools improve engagement between themselves and parents? Anomaly screens anomaly screens It has been proven that Anomaly screens do in fact improve parental engagement. Having Anomaly screens positioned in key areas such as where parents drop off their children, makes interacting with parents a simple task. Not only do we have a content library full of content that pupils can enjoy, we also have content that is designed for parents. Our schools can time this content to play at the end of the school day, to catch parents picking up their children. As well as this, our screens also have the ability to display key messages for parents/visitors to your schools to enjoy. Update messages from a computer or your tablet or smart phone with ease and let parents know what’s happening around your school. Anomaly Film In addition to Anomaly screens, we also offer various different services. One of which being Anomaly Film. Anomaly Film is a portable green screen studio which allows pupils and teachers to produce high quality films in relation to the current curriculum. Anomaly Film encourages students to make use of green screen technology in the classroom. Combining a film kit with green screen technology, Anomaly Film encapsulates students and works towards improving achievement and attentiveness. Using both Anomaly Film and Anomaly screens together, we make it possible for schools to showcase pupils work to parents – parents are constantly in the loop with what their child is learning in school.
