Promoting LGBT equality at your school with Anomaly

In this blog post, we’re looking at new content we have on our Anomaly screens which looks at promoting LGBT equality in schools. According to a BBC report, children who are bullied can still experience negative effects on their physical and mental health more than 40 years later. Promoting LGBT equality in schools can be key to removing any stigma around this topic. We’ve created content tailored to improve understanding of LGBT topics. Anomaly content We’ve produced content which aims to give students a better understanding of LGBT. The content covers gender identity and gives a brief explanation of what gender identity entails. Gender identity is a way to describe how you feel about your gender. People identify their gender as a boy or a girl or something different. The content aims to encourage an understanding that everyone has a gender identity and expresses their gender in a unique and personal way. As well as explaining gender identity, the content aims to dispel any myths about words and labels associated with LGBT. Remember, not everyone likes to be labelled, but developing an understanding of what these words mean will reduce the stigma around the subject and reduce bullying in school. More content is planned around this subject and you can find any current content available on the secondary channel on the Anomaly Content Manager.
