Improving confidence and enthusiasm in children is something that Little London are always encouraging at their school. In addition to this Little London promotes a happy place in which students can learn effectively. Little London Primary School Anomaly has had the pleasure of working with Little London Primary School to constantly improve their existing digital infrastructure and help promote all values that the school is currently promoting. Rachael Blacker, Year 4 teacher at Little London Community Primary School said: “A small group of my year 4 class were recently involved in a whole day workshop where they were exploring the use of green screen technology. From the very start of the session the children were highly engaged and loved exploring how the green screen was set up and the different pieces of equipment used. During the session, the children performed small pieces of mime which they had produced in a whole class activity earlier on in the week.” Rachael continued by saying: “Once they children had performed, they were then shown how to transform their drama into a visual piece of work. Matt encouraged the children to help with editing the piece of work. Throughout the whole day session, the children were thriving with enthusiasm and couldn’t wait to continue their workshop. When the final piece was shown to the rest of the class they were booming with pride and could not wait to show the whole school their achievement. As well as helping the children, the Anomaly team were able to involve the class teacher in this activity and give them the opportunity to use the green screen again. I and the children thoroughly enjoyed the day and we cannot wait for Anomaly to come back to our school next term.” If you would like to incorporate any Anomaly technology into your school, or find out more about our vast range of services in the education sector please do not hesitate to call us on 0844 579 0880 or alternatively you can email us on the usual address info@anomalygroup.co.uk Twitter | Facebook

Below you will be able to find a written testimonial from the school which highlights their experience with the Anomaly service. Gavin Evans, head teacher at Hilltop Primary School said: “After working with Anomaly and having a digital screen installed, it has transformed playtimes. Whenever I wander out onto the playground during a break there are always many children mirroring the exercises displayed on the screen. The children love the activities that we have installed on the screen. It’s also a bonus to have these activities programmed to be on at certain times. Raising participation and volumes of energetic activity was a priority and the Anomaly screen has helped to do this.” Gavin continued to say: “When the children are not running, stretching and jumping they are watching the second screen and getting excited about seeing themselves and their work on the screen. Thank you Anomaly!” If you would like to incorporate any Anomaly technology into your school, or find out more about our vast range of services in the education sector please do not hesitate to call us on 0844 579 0880 or alternatively you can email us on the usual address info@anomalygroup.co.uk Twitter | Facebook

What’s on this April? Find out in this monthly feature which focuses on all the things you can expect this month on the Anomaly Content Manager. The Anomaly content manager is a tailored platform designed for schools to get the most out of their Anomaly screens. In this blog post discover everything relevant to the month of April as we continue through the spring months. Each month we write a blog post for our schools to read through which highlights key material which is coming up for each month. Here’s a full list of content that is scheduled for the April month: dinosaurs, debating, introducing yourself in Spanish, Hinduism, tips to stay safe: online gaming, chess board riddle, bullying, talking to an adult, school lunch box, fruit and veg, tomatoes, hay fever, head lice, using the right toothbrush, recycling, renewable energy, warm up routine, bring it back dance, basketball and walking to school. Tips to stay safe: Online Gaming OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Online gaming can be a fun way for pupils to connect with others, but as with everything, there can be problems. It’s important for people to understand the risks and know how to handle a certain situation which can often prove difficult when it’s happening. This month we’ve created content which outlines how people can stay safe when gaming online. The content specifically talks about how you can deal with bullying online but also how to stay safe in terms of protecting against people who may use your personal information against you. This content is specifically created in line with “educate against hate” as well as promoting British values themes of respect, which is going to be constantly pushed out over the next couple of months. Introducing yourself Introducing yourself can be difficult at times. Especially in a language you may not recognise! We’ve got content on our Anomaly screens this April which shows how one can introduce themselves in a different language. We often display content which shows how to learn another language. Previously we have created content which shows French and Spanish animations that taught pupils some basic phrases that they could use every day. Other content As well as all the content we’ve highlighted in this blog post, we’ve also uploaded the Educate Against Hate video in line with a lot of the content we’re already playing. We have a moving version of the poster that the government has put up for schools to download. The content has the words “extremism” and “terrorism” in it, so we felt that it’s up to our Anomaly schools to decide if they want to show it on their screens. We have made it available to drop into playlists, but we are not broadcasting it ourselves. So that’s it for this month! As well as producing all this content for our schools we also recently launched our YouTube channel which you can find by clicking here. Alternatively you can watch a recent tutorial that we pushed out last week which can be found below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4iLe3DvQqE If you would like to incorporate any Anomaly technology into your workplace or school, or find out more about our vast range of services in the education and construction sector please do not hesitate to call us on 0844 579 0880 or alternatively you can email us on the usual address info@anomalygroup.co.uk Twitter | Facebook

In this blog post Anomaly focuses on one of its successful schools, Ranelagh Primary School. Read their testimonial which highlights their experiences whilst using the Anomaly services, in particular, the use of Anomaly Film. Having been one of our stand out schools for as long as we can remember, we wanted to highlight the commitment and achievement displayed by the school. anomaly film Anomaly had the pleasure of working with Ranelagh to improve their existing digital infrastructure. Ranelagh have wrote several pieces about the Anomaly services, in their most recent, Ranelagh said: “On Thursday 21st January Ranelagh Primary School was delighted to play host to a contingent of ten Dutch teachers from the Hague. The group traveled from Holland to observe the teaching of computing in an English primary school and the incorporation of technology in the classroom.” Ranelagh went on to say: “The most recent technology incorporated into the school timetable is ‘Anomaly Film’, which enables green screen filming and editing. The ‘studio in a box’ is compact, portable and user friendly. These factors ensure that the pupils are involved in the whole film production process, from creative collaboration to recording and editing the final film, providing them with newly acquired skills and at the same time giving them a useful insight into the movie industry.” Class teacher Mr Jenkins, who organised the film demonstration, said, “It’s fantastic that the pupils at Ranelagh have the opportunity to use such challenging technology. Not only do they experience performing in front of a green screen, producing some amazing results, they have also learned to set up the equipment, work the camera and direct their peers. The children then complete the whole process by editing the footage themselves. It’s a great way for the pupils to build a solid technology skill set and, at the same time, show their wonderful creative talents.” Adapting to new technologies is key to improving learning in the classroom. Anomaly Film introduces a digital and interactive film studio for the classroom which encapsulates students with the school curriculum. Anomaly Film is an expertly crafted custom film kit for schools created by Anomaly Interactive.
